1 June 2013: Winter started in true style this morning by lighting up the skies with beautiful pastel tones. We began with deep pre-dawn pinks which slowly built in intensity. It seemed as though I had witnessed nature’s palate for pinks, mauves and purples which slowly progressed to a stunning sunrise glow. It wasn’t long before the heavy clouds rolled in from the west quickly extinguishing all colour and soon it felt like I was paddling in a world of black and white. This was one amazing transformation.

Love it!
Thanks Janet, It was a stunning out there this morning.
Great start to winter photos. I Love paddling in the rain. Must buy one of those hats this winter. Ian….Paddlingsouth
Hey Ian, It was a cracker start to winter and as you well know a paddling in the rain can be beautiful. But please do me a favour and send me through a few shots if/when you get a ‘CraniumBrella’ hat. Love to see it 🙂 All the best mate…cheers
Your so clever taking those shots. Cheers Liz ( a retired for the season Ice- Dragon)
Thanks Liz,
It nice and easy when the water is so still and you have a stunning sunrise taking place like that, although as you know, the last thing you want to do is take a dip. I’m glad you like the shots. All the best….Paul
Oh My Goodness they are so magical, and to think I lay in bed and miss it all. Where can I get that type of hat?
Hi Glenys,
There are so many magical moment s out there, that’s for sure. One good thing is that you can have a sleeping in and still experience the sun rise
The hats are quite unique don’t you think….just not my style though 🙂
I love the photo with the Swans so much that is pure beauty and bliss.
They are so angelic.
