18 July 2013: This morning I decided to go for a walk and take in the sunrise from my old stomping grounds rather than go for a paddle and what a fantastic decision that was. It was so nice to just sit back and enjoy a glorious sunrise from my old surfing spots from Newcastle to Nobbys beach. The pre-dawn tones were sublime and the morning transformation was brilliant. My walk this morning brought back so many memories and reminded how important it is to get out there and enjoy the simple things. I hope that you enjoy this mornings shots as much as I enjoyed photographing them, I had such a beautiful trip down memory lane.
6.16am: New day beginning at Nobbys Beach.
The pre-dawn tones we just stunning.
Newcastle Ocean Baths. I had so much fun here.
6.24am: Pastel dawn view from the Newcastle Ocean Baths.
The view over the Cowrie Hole through to Nobbys…had many a surf here.
It was so nice to feel sand beneath the toes and take in the sunrise from my old stomping grounds. I wish I had a dollar for every time I ran past these chains to jump of Newcastle Point for a surf.
6.42am: Pastel pinks now forming over South Newcastle Beach.
I just love watching the morning transform.
6.51am: There was plenty of activity at the Ocean Baths even at this time.
Its all about sitting back and taking time out to enjoy the simple things.
Ignition over Newcastle.
The nucleus is about to split open and lighten everything up
It was such a stunning light show it had me jumping out of my skin!
