Natures Artwork

17 August 2013: I consider myself one lucky man to be able to witness something so beautiful. This mornings transformation was absolutely sublime, natures colour palate is unmatchable and the pattern configurations that were created by mirrored waters made it such a peaceful way to start the day. I hope that you enjoy the shots.

  1. Hi Paul,

I’m a fellow photoblogger based in Adelaide who very much enjoys the fantastic images you share of Lake Burley Griffin.

As a 19 yo I spent 9 months working in Canberra in 1966 on a temporary transfer with my job and enjoyed exploring the region.

Next month I am returning to stay with friends who are involved with the Floriade and wondered whether you have the time and inclination to catch up – either over a coffee or a paddle? (I’ve not paddled before and, although no “spring chicken”, would be willing to give it a go if it can be arranged). No hidden motives in the approach Paul – am just an enthusiastic amateur who enjoys photographing and appreciating our awesome surroundings and thought it would be a pity to miss the opportunity to meet the kayakcameraman while in Canberra.

    Over to you!

    Kind regards, Valerie

    • Hi Valerie,
It would be great to catch up and have a coffee, we can sort out the finer details once you are here (my email is I will look at getting you out on the water, weather permitting and my schedules, possibly in my double kayak, it’s very stable. I wouldn’t like to take you out in a single if you are inexperienced as the water is freezing and the last thing you want is to go for a swim. See how it all works out, but coffee is a certain. I look forward to catching up when you are here in Canberra. All the best.
