6 OCT 2013: All I could hear was the glug of my paddle slicing through the glass waters and a multitude of birds in full song as I casually meandered my way on the Maria River this morning. I am working my way home ever so slowly and I just wish I had another few days ( more like weeks really!) to reunite myself this this stunning region. This is just a taste, as I will be back up here camping in twelve weeks time for our annual Christmas Holidays. So much see, so much to do!
Wow! Looks stunning
The Maria River is a fantastic, you normally have it all to yourself and the scenery is excellent. I always enjoy re-visiting this region as there is so much to see and do. I’m glad that you enjoyed the shots. I’ll be paddling here again in about 10-12 weeks so hopefully I will be able to load a few more shots.
Look forward to it. I posted a short video with some of my kayak shots today
Just had a look, great stuff. Thought it was fantastic.
Yoga Lily is my favorite shot in this post. Just something about the sunlit wisps of fog in the background.
Great minds think alike; they looked fantastic. They just caught my eye as I paddling up one of the small meandering arms. I love paddling this river, very seldom do you come across anyone. The scenery is beautiful. I always enjoy re-visiting this water way.
Another vote for Yoga Lily. Just stood out…and that was tough with all the other great shots. Thanks.
My fav of the sequence as well. The sounds of the bird life in full song just add to the brilliance. I am looking forward to paddling here again at during the Christmas Holidays. We camp at Crescent Head for four weeks and it’s only a stone through away. Can’t wait, there are so many arms to discover and explore along with many other river, estuaries and creek, not to mention the point breaks and endless beaches as well. This is one stunning region. I have it a dream to live up here some where….always good to dream I suppose. So glad you liked the shots 🙂
