A winter getaway to Melbourne, Victoria was food for the soul with so many options on offer from historic laneways and byways filled with hip cafes and graffiti, to blockbuster sporting events such as the Champions League at the MCG. A leisurely drive to the famous Bells Beach and Torquay topped off a great winter escape.
Lost in the Laneways
There is so much to see and so much to experience here.
I loved wandering my way through the laneways.
Hosier Lane is sensational
The atmosphere throughout the lanes is great.
Excellent food every step of the way
It was a wonderful family experience.
ST Kilda is sensational.
Running the St Kilda lines
Do yourself a favour and visit the St Kilda Sea baths. We only went there for a quick hour swim and left three and a half hours later. How could we leave the hydro therapy pool, sauna and warm salt water pools ! You maybe even lucky like us to meet the Bulldogs and Dockers as they go through their morning recovery session. Have to say I think Julie enjoyed this more that us 🙂
Cruising our way down Acland Street

St Kilda sunrises are sensational!
Our accommodation was only one block back from St Kilda Pier which made it nice and easy to casual stroll down to the promenade to watch the day begin.
The early tones were sublime
It was breathless and the entire basin was super smooth.
Wishing I had my kayak at this point !
The St Kilda Pier is such an historic part of Melbourne.
The early morning light lit up the building beautifully.
This pier is so picturesque
It may have been a fresh Melbourne start but the imagery was very cool
