Howler of a morning

6.08am: Yet again I was treated to another magnificent morning out there on LBG with the moon dominating the morning sky.

I generally cast off at 6am most mornings. So far I have paddled throughout the entire Canberra winter and to tell the truth; it wasn’t that bad. There were a few minus 6 mornings that took place and I thought to myself; what the hell are you doing out here! But once you start and the sun begins to pop up you soon forget about the frost and cold.

As you can see by the photos, most mornings are calm, but with the water at 5 degrees the last thing you want to do is fall in.

You soon warm up though when the dawn breaks and your conditions are this.
