24 April 2013: What a misty morning marvel. It felt that the water temp has dropped a few degrees since yesterday and there was even a light frosting on the windscreen this morning. But it’s conditions like these that produce a mystical feeling out on the water.

6.13am: Kings Avenue Bridge shroud in mist.

6.17am: Misty Carillon

6.28am: Fire red with a mix of mist

6.28am: The Mist Busters from Burley Griffin Canoe Club

6.29am: Shredding up the lake once again.

6.30am: Paddle Board Pete doing a few rounds of the lake.

6.45am: Enjoying the warmth of the morning sun on my face.

6.56am: Vivid reds on the foreshore once the sun is up. How good is Autumn!

The quads burning through the morning.

6.57am: It’s burning off to reveal another awesome Autumn day.

This mornings paddle definitely had a mystical feel about.

Another beautiful series of shots – 6:45 and 6:56 are my favourites though. I had the pleasure of living in Canberra on a temporary transfer from SA when I was 18 and even now (almost half a century ago!) the exquisite autumn Canberran colours are etched in my memory. Thanks for reviving them and for sharing your gorgeous captures.
Autumn is one of my favourite seasons here, the conditions are calm the temps are great and the transition from autumn into winter is spectacular. The trees are just starting to turn now so I’m looking forward to seeing the Canberra in full colour. The foreshore is looking superb. It’s nice to hear that the photos bring back great memories. Hopefully I will be able to snap a few more shots for you.
