Sunday 30 November 2014: Words cannot express the sunrise this morning. There was so much variety with the scenery transitioning from what looked like a pot of molten gold to a perfect rainbow arcing over the city scape. The clouds formations were amazing, often turbulent and forever changing.
5.35am: I knew at this moment that It was going to be an unforgettable experience.
The reflections were so vivid.
With each passing minute the colours began to grow
There is no better way to start the day
5.48am: The reflections were just superb
What a beautiful beginning. The sun slithered upwards as if in slow motion, casting soft golden light over LBG
The sun beam reached out towards me. I was mesmerised by nature’s beauty
I was greeted by this striking rainbow which arced over the main basin.
I had a wonderful 20 minutes of chasing rainbows on Lake Burley Griffin.
I thought to myself It just can’t get any better than this…
But how wrong I was
The clouds rolled in and the rain started to fall and you would think that this would be the end, but it was only the beginning of the next stage.
The sky became angry and the formations were complex.
Everywhere you looked the scenery was amazing.
I was sitting in the middle on the main basin drifting amongst the most spectacular reflections.
Angry clouds spilled over onto the Carillion
The clouds continued to roll in combining to create a tumultuous sky
7.12am I’m still in awe at what I have witnessed.
Imagination overrules all. The High Court of Australia was looking very surreal.
It was a turbulent but terrific morning and one that will stay with me for many years to come. I hope that you have enjoyed the photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
