23 May 2013: There was no need for speed this morning when you have reflections like this taking place. The protection that the wetlands provided made for some amazing reflection despite the overcast and windy conditions. A paddle into the our wetlands always guarantees a calm and peaceful experience and this morning didn’t disappoint.

6.47am: A paddle into the wetlands is always beautiful.

It’s always a calm and peaceful paddle in here.

The cloud formations were wild this morning.

I love photographing from a sea kayak.

You see thing from a different perspective.

6.52am: Beautiful pre-dawn deep tones sketched the skies.

I was in no hurry at all.

I just sat there and sponged it all in.

Paddling and photography …it allows me to go into a world of beauty for an hour or so each day.

I love your wetland photos. As a child (1940s and 50s) I always wandered through the swamp/wetland area near home, watching frogs and tadpoles, water birds, water insects and floating birds’ nests. The big gum trees, the tall grasses, the bird calls and the clear, gently moving water….it was magic!! It’s true, the secret of happiness is curiosity!
Hi Elizabeth,
Sounds like you had many beautiful times in the wetlands during your childhood. It is truly a wonderful thing to experience. There is just so much life going on around you. I just love sitting back and taking it all in, when I’m in the there I’m never in a hurry at all.
