14 Feb 2015: Soft subtle tones and calm conditions made for perfect conditions to test drive my new canon 70D camera. I paddled into the picturesque Jerrabomberra Wetlands which showcased the waterlilies in bud, willows dancing on the water and an abundance of birdlife.
Don’t let the overcast conditions deter you from venturing into the National Multicultural Festival with sensational food on offer and some great local bands to entertain you. Be sure to stop by the Croatian stall and sample some of the food from my heritage.
What a memorable 2014. I’ve continued to be mesmerised by the beauty of Canberra with each and every season offering a spectacle of colour.
I have peacefully paddled amongst soft pastels tones, navigated my way through pea soup fog and have been wowed by our -8 wintery conditions as I glide my way on glassy, often near frozen waters. Each and every sunrise is different and I am continually amazed by this natural beauty especially the golden sunrises which are special to our inland city.
Through my paddling experiences I have been fortunate to meet fellow paddlers, friends and others who have become influential in my life. Our common link is our love for Canberra and all that it offers.
I have found it extremely hard to put a selection of shots together as there have been so many memorable moments this year. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I have enjoyed capturing and sharing them.
I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and I hope that you have an enjoyable festive season. Thank you for your ongoing support and I look forward to seeing and hearing from you in the New Year.

29 Nov 2014: Today’s paddle started with an electric sunrise and sent me on a day of discovery. The colour of spring was reflected in the underwater world with fuchsia tangled tree roots glowing below the water’s surface.
Do you want a new and fun way to advertise your business? ‘Chilli Space’ is now up and running and will promote your business by displaying your business card on the nose of the red chilli and include your photo in my daily post and blog.
Brilliant reflections to start the day
23 Sept 2014: WOW is the best way to describe my experience this morning.
That was truly a soul warming sunrise.
25 Aug 2014: There was definitely a touch of magic in the sunrise this morning. It seems as though our glorious weekend’s weather has spilled over into Monday. The temperatures are starting to warm up and it won’t too long before the trees are bursting with colour. Spring is nearly here!
22 June 2014: The temps may have been crisp, but it was definitely a very peaceful paddle into the wetlands this morning. I hope you enjoyed the trip.
8 June 2014: There was a definite feel of winter this morning with -2 degree temps with very cool reflections. Calm glassy water, mist hovering around me and a beautiful soft golden glow made for a serene paddle on LBG. I hope that you enjoy the photostory.
7 Feb 2014: What a gorgeous way to end the working week. My morning paddle began with me drifting on beautiful pastel hues which transformed quickly into another lovely sunrise. The near perfect conditions made for an extremely pleasurable way to end the working week. I hope that you enjoy another stunning day here in Canberra and that you have a great weekend.
I thought it only fitting to compile a 100 shots as a tribute to the Centenary of Canberra. I’ve had a fantastic year being mesmerised by so many gorgeous sunrises and I am continually amazed at how LBG constantly treats me to a wonderful natural lightshow each and every paddling session. Canberra should be known as the ‘Sunrise Capital of Australia’. The four seasons have been superb. One minute you are paddling through pea soup fog, the next you’re being wowed by amazing pastels tones, or being dazzled by brilliant golden hues, the variety is extensive. I found it extremely hard to select the final 100 as I have snapped over 30,000 photos this year. That would have to be a life time of sunrises in one year- how lucky I am!
I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and I hope that you have an enjoyable holiday break.
Thanks for your support and I look forward to seeing and hearing from you all in the new year.
