About kayakcameraman

I’m a kayaker who has fallen in love with photography. You'll find me quietly snapping away at the unique seasonal changes that take place around me. I began paddling on the lake as a way to rebuild both my body and mind after enduring an intensive three-month bout of chemotherapy due to testicular cancer. I had never paddled a kayak prior to this and very quickly discovered how stunning it is to be on the water looking out – rather than in. What I love about photography and paddling is that it provides you with best head space. This is why I love my daily paddles, as it gives me peace and contentment along with some of the best natural light shows. Why would you not want to experience it!

Going with the Flow at Nelligen

6 & 7 May 2017: Last weekend (6 & 7 May) a few mates and I stayed at Nelligen and decided to attempt our first ever return paddle from Nelligen to Batemans Bay – NSW which is a total distance of 26Kms. This happened to coincide (planned) with the first ever Batemans Bay Marathon, but as we were staying at the Nelligen Caravan Park we thought it was much easier to start and finish at from our own private beach and go with the tidal flow, so we named our paddle the reverse marathon. This large album collection of images is from the entire weekend. It encompasses, sunrises, jelly fish, mangroves, private beaches, kayakers gritting it out during a marathon, evening fires pits and mirror reflections of a stunning South Coast waterway. I hope that you enjoy images as much as I enjoyed capturing them. It was a weekend of many laughs, good times and great memories.
