15 March 2014: The balloons didn’t launch over LBG this morning, so ‘Mother Nature’ stepped and put on an stunning performance to light up our skies. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a sunrise open with deep mauves and swirls of pinks. Then to end show she had liquid gold dance on the waters surface to create a wonderful finale.
11 March 2014: I was totally mesmerised this morning as a gorgeous sunrise combined perfectly with brilliant balloon display to produce an amazing spectacle. Simply stunning is the best way to describe my experience on the lake this morning. I even latched on the basket of the ‘Capital Chemist’ balloon and was taken for (at least) a 100 metre ride as Justin Galbraith glided the balloon on the water surface. I think I will be floating for the rest of the day…..It just doesn’t get any better than this!
16 Jan 2014: This morning I had my daily tonic of soothing tones and magic reflections. Seeing the day being like this is my morning mediation and it’s such a huge part of my life since I began paddling and photographing after finishing treatment over two years ago. Every sunrise has its own unique signature and this morning’s sunrise definitely hit the spot.

Another golden start to great day
11 Jan 2014: Tonight I cruised my into an amazing sunset. It started with blue mirrored waters and it continued to evolve into a beautiful golden sunset. I don’t get the chance to experience to many of them, so tonight’s cruise on Lake Burley Griffin was a very enjoyable one.
Reflections like this always put a huge smile on my dial 🙂
11 Jan 2014: I drifted and floated my way into the world of Canberra Zen this morning on Lake Burley Griffin. Quickly you become immersed in gorgeous golden tones to east and soft mauve pastel to the west. It doesn’t get any better than this, I hope that you enjoy the shots.

4 Jan 2013: Plenty of people were surfing golden rays to begin their day as the surf was rapping around the point at Crescent Head this morning. It began with early pastel tones and very quickly transformed into a magnificent golden display. What a beautiful way to star the day!

31 Dec 2013: Serenity and simplicity would describe Mother Natures final day to 2013. The golden tones and the crashing tunes of the ocean were a brilliant combo to farewell the year. 30 Dec 2013: Soft pastel tones preceded the light of day with the sound of waves crashing onto the shore line. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on Shelley Beach, Crescent Head this morning watching yet another day unfold.

28 Dec 2013: The magical Maria River never disappoints. I always look forward to experiencing this wonderful river which really should be called the river of relaxation. I’m so lucky as there is so many arms of this stunning waterway for me to explore over the next 10 days….Can’t wait!
What a magic start to the day.
I thought it only fitting to compile a 100 shots as a tribute to the Centenary of Canberra. I’ve had a fantastic year being mesmerised by so many gorgeous sunrises and I am continually amazed at how LBG constantly treats me to a wonderful natural lightshow each and every paddling session. Canberra should be known as the ‘Sunrise Capital of Australia’. The four seasons have been superb. One minute you are paddling through pea soup fog, the next you’re being wowed by amazing pastels tones, or being dazzled by brilliant golden hues, the variety is extensive. I found it extremely hard to select the final 100 as I have snapped over 30,000 photos this year. That would have to be a life time of sunrises in one year- how lucky I am!
