About kayakcameraman

I’m a kayaker who has fallen in love with photography. You'll find me quietly snapping away at the unique seasonal changes that take place around me. I began paddling on the lake as a way to rebuild both my body and mind after enduring an intensive three-month bout of chemotherapy due to testicular cancer. I had never paddled a kayak prior to this and very quickly discovered how stunning it is to be on the water looking out – rather than in. What I love about photography and paddling is that it provides you with best head space. This is why I love my daily paddles, as it gives me peace and contentment along with some of the best natural light shows. Why would you not want to experience it!

I would like to thank everyone for your support throughout 2014. It’s been a great year and my life has been enriched by new experiences and friendships.
I wish you all a happy new year. Best wishes for 2015
Paul Jurak.

Surfing Santa’s

24 Dec 2014: Crescent Head is so special that the Surfing Santa’s take time out from their busy schedule to stop off for a surf. This is such a wonderful event which is entirely focussed on family fun and participation whether you are paddling or cheering. The Crescent Head Surfing Santa’s event is in its third year and the numbers were huge with an estimated 300 plus participants ranging of all ages and locations. This is what makes this event so special. The atmosphere was joyous and everyone had a truly enjoyable time. If you discover small deposits of sand at the base of your Christmas tree you definitely know the Surfing Santa’s have been. I wish you a very merry Christmas.
