Lights and Colour

8 April 2014: This morning I was guided by the lights of Kings Avenue Bridge, The National Carillon and the foreshore as I paddled my way into the main basin in the hope of another stunning sunrise. Unfortunately the conditions didn’t allow that to happen, but luckily for me the ever happy ‘Dragons Abreast’ ladies were out on LBG and they added a huge splash of colour to an overcast morning. I just love their enthusiasm and fun, they are such a great site on the water.

Marvellous Monday

7 April 2014: “In all things of nature there is something of the marvellous” Aristotle.

The working week has started in spectacular style and it appears that the drizzle which we have experience over the past few day has moved on to leave us with clear blue skies. I hope that you have a great day.

Lovely Greeting

2 April 2014:  I just love being greeted with mist dancing on mirrored waters and soft subtle tones. I had such a pleasurable time watching the soft tones transform into a vivid and bright explosion of light as the sun burst the morning mist to liven up the day. I’ll gladly be welcomed like that any time. Have a great day!

Natures Masterpiece

19 March 2014: Mother Nature definitely created a beautiful masterpiece this morning as she livened up our skies. I was wowed as the clouds were back lit with array of vivid colours and everything was enhanced as the light reflected off mirror waters. Now that was one stunning start to the day.

Wow what a morning

Performance Perfection

15 March 2014: The balloons didn’t launch over LBG this morning, so ‘Mother Nature’ stepped and put on an stunning performance to light up our skies. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a sunrise open with deep mauves and swirls of pinks. Then to end show she had liquid gold dance on the waters surface to create a wonderful finale.

Superb Sights and Sounds

14 March 2014: There’s something unique about experiencing the blast of a burner from a hot air balloon as it floats metres away from the nose of your kayak. The balloons looked fantastic as they danced through our skies and drifted on the surface of LBG making it a beautiful morning to be out on the water. The balloon festival has been absolutely stunning and I going to miss it so much. Maybe next year it could run for the entire month, now that would be very cool in deed. I don’t think there would be too many objections from anyone at all.  I hope you like the shots  🙂

Totally Mesmerised

11 March 2014: I was totally mesmerised this morning as a gorgeous sunrise combined perfectly with brilliant balloon display to produce an amazing spectacle. Simply stunning is the best way to describe my experience on the lake this morning. I even latched on the basket of the ‘Capital Chemist’ balloon and was taken for (at least) a 100 metre ride as Justin Galbraith glided the balloon on the water surface. I think I will be floating for the rest of the day…..It just doesn’t get any better than this!

Absolute BLAST of a time at the Canberra Balloon Festival

10 March 2014: Fantastic, brilliant, excellent, hilarious, loads of laughs, what a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was sensational, everyone was laughing, the mood was one of sheer excitement as the pilots turned on a spectacular flying performance. Balloons were casually basket dragging their way across the lake while taking the time out to have a chat to a crowd of kayakers and paddle boarders who were on the water hoping to have a close up experience. The balloon festival has been absolutely brilliant, I sincerely hope you have the opportunity to experience it.

What an awesome experience, what a fantastic festival.
