Wonderful Odyssey

1 Jan 2013: Today I was taken into another world as I explored the beautiful Maria River. This is truly one stunning river, it has so much to see and so much discover. You just drift amongst its meandering arms and quickly you become immersed in its world. The visuals on top and underneath the waters surface are mesmerising and you are accompanied by the brilliant sounds of the Australian bush. I just love the world which it takes me to. Today I was only going for a quick hour paddle but it ended up turning into a four hour wonder odyssey.

Soft Subtle Start

2014 started with pastel pinks illuminating the horizon and continued on with soft subtle tones. It was wonderful transition that finished off with the golden rays bursting out from behind the clouds to ignite a new year. 24 Dec 2013: The Surfing Santa’s always take time out from their busy world tour to have a surf at the magical Crescent Head on Christmas eve. They looked fantastic and great crowds turned out to be apart of this wonderful event. You can tell by the huge smiles that everyone had a great time. What a true Aussie Christmas. Merry Christmas to everyone and if you find small deposits of sand in your lounge room you’ll know that the Surfing Santa’s have been.

100 photos for a 100 years of Canberra

I thought it only fitting to compile a 100 shots as a tribute to the Centenary of Canberra. I’ve had a fantastic year being mesmerised by so many gorgeous sunrises and I am continually amazed at how LBG constantly treats me to a wonderful natural lightshow each and every paddling session. Canberra should be known as the ‘Sunrise Capital of Australia’. The four seasons have been superb. One minute you are paddling through pea soup fog, the next you’re being wowed by amazing pastels tones, or being dazzled by brilliant golden hues, the variety is extensive. I found it extremely hard to select the final 100 as I have snapped over 30,000 photos this year. That would have to be a life time of sunrises in one year- how lucky I am!

I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and I hope that you have an enjoyable holiday break.

Super Dooper Sunrise

20 Dec 2013: Super Dooper Mega Wow! What a fantastic farewell to the week and for many, the working year as Mother Nature turned on a stunning display again this morning. I’m heading off today for a few weeks in search of rivers, estuaries, point breaks and the golden sands of the mid north coast. Keep an eye out as I’ll be loading a tribute to 2013 next week.

All the signs were there that it was going to be another stunner.

Sunrise KAPOW

19 Dec 2013: Mother Nature unleashed an absolute stunner this morning! It was truly gorgeous: the conditions were super smooth with superb tones to the east. Then the sunrise went into overdrive. I didn’t expect it to be that good to be honest. I watched the pink glow forming on the horizon thinking that it will be a nice sunrise and then…. KAPOW. That sunrise will be etched in my mind for some time. I hope that you enjoy the shots as much as I enjoy taking them.
