Captivating Canberra
What a blissful morning it was out on LBG this morning. It began with soft pastel tones twenty minutes before the scheduled sunrise and transformed into a captivating display of gorgeous colours and vivid reflections. There was plenty of activity with SUP’s, outriggers, sculls and loads of people enjoying and utilising our lake.
Happy Birthday LBG – 50 Years Young
Lake Burley Griffin is a national landmark that has provided it’s locals and visitors with so many memorable moments over the past 50 years. It’s has been a privilege to be able to witness and photograph the kaleidoscope of colours and seasonal features that Lake Burley Griffin offers me each day as a backdrop.
What I love about photography and paddling is that it provides me with an incredibly calm headspace. It is my meditation. No two days are the same, and each day provides me with a natural light show that sometimes leaves me gasping in wonder. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I have enjoyed capturing these moments.

Pastel Performance
9 Sept 2014: I was treated to a wonderful light show this morning in Canberra. The clouds acted as a natural filter softening the sunlight which cast gorgeous pastel tones to light up the sky. It started off with soft mauves tones and it quickly transformed into a stunning vivid light show.We are treated to many stunning mornings and this one was no exception!
Etched Sunset
6 Sept 2014: Today’s sunset will be etched in my mind for a long time. I am continually awestruck by the beautiful sunsets that we are treated to here in Canberra. They are a constant reminder of how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful city. I’m so grateful to be able to experience and share these magical moments with you.
A Living Painting
9 Aug 2014: It felt as though I was paddling in a living painting. Mother Nature mesmerised me this morning by beginning the day with gorgeous pastel pinks which slowly transitioned into soft sublime tones. It’s hard to believe that these beautiful conditions would result from subzero temperatures and heavy fog.

Frosty and Fantastic
3 Aug 2014: What a start to the morning with minus 5 temps, crystal clear skies, mist dancing on the water. Despite the cold biting at my face and my fingers and toes burning I couldn’t resist paddling further so that I could watch the scenery transform. I was transfixed by the sunrise which rose resembling a pot of gold. Behind me was a soft palette of soft pastel tones. Winter at its best with snow play available in the Brindabella’s and perfect clear skies for all to enjoy
Soft as Velvet
28 July 2014: It all began with a hint of pink to the east and it quickly transformed into a stunning sunrise. This morning I was treated to yet again another gorgeous beginning. I hope that you enjoy the photo story of my peaceful paddle.
Unexpected Surprise
28 June 2014: The gorgeous reflections that I experienced this morning was the last thing I expected as the forecast was for windy conditions early on and by mid morning the weather was meant to turn extremely bleak (which it did). I was lucky enough to find this little patch of peace and calm on the section where the Molonglo River meets with LBG. It was here that I was treated to a very pretty start to Saturday. The quote from Pablo Picasso “Everything you can imagine is real” pretty much sums up my morning paddle. I hope you enjoy the photo’s.
