26 Oct 2014: This morning I was engulfed by golden mist on Lake Burley Griffin. I was on the water 45 minutes before the scheduled sunrise time of 6.06am and the East Basin was shrouded in light mist and the water, glassy. I immediately knew that this was going to transform into something special, so I decided to sit back, relax and enjoy watching the morning unfold. Initially the colours were soft and then from out of nowhere the sun rose between the poplars shedding gold light beams from all angles. It looked FANTASTIC! From this moment on the morning went into golden high fire mode.
24 Oct 2014: .Wow, brilliant, fantastic, extraordinary, dynamic…..can some one get me a thesaurus please! I found myself standing there speechless in awe gasping at its beauty. That sunset just exploded from nowhere to produce a scintillating light show that was beyond words. It was one of the best sunsets that I have experienced for a while.
What a blissful morning it was out on LBG this morning. It began with soft pastel tones twenty minutes before the scheduled sunrise and transformed into a captivating display of gorgeous colours and vivid reflections. There was plenty of activity with SUP’s, outriggers, sculls and loads of people enjoying and utilising our lake.
Words cannot describe the sunrise I experienced in Canberra this morning. I’ll let the photos tell you the story of how magnificent it was. How lucky are we to be able to experience such beauty?
Click the link to see the 8 minute feature to see a few people (me included) who have a deep connection Lake Burley Griffin. It is beautiful feature article by Adrienne Francis and brilliantly shot by Mark Moore. Yet again nothing but quality from the ABC730ACT.

Lake Burley Griffin is a national landmark that has provided it’s locals and visitors with so many memorable moments over the past 50 years. It’s has been a privilege to be able to witness and photograph the kaleidoscope of colours and seasonal features that Lake Burley Griffin offers me each day as a backdrop.
What I love about photography and paddling is that it provides me with an incredibly calm headspace. It is my meditation. No two days are the same, and each day provides me with a natural light show that sometimes leaves me gasping in wonder. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I have enjoyed capturing these moments.

9 Oct 2014: What an amazing day in Canberra. I haven’t seen a sunset like this for some time. I was captivated as the skyline radically changed in colour from crystal blues to a rich colour palette of tangerine and reds. Truly mesmerising.
