10 Jan 2014: I have be treated to a magnificent magma sunrise this morning after returning home from our annual camping holiday on the mid north coast. I thoroughly enjoyed my warm welcome home and I can’t wait to see what 2014 will bring. I hope that you enjoy the shots and have a great day.
What a welcoming
I thought it only fitting to compile a 100 shots as a tribute to the Centenary of Canberra. I’ve had a fantastic year being mesmerised by so many gorgeous sunrises and I am continually amazed at how LBG constantly treats me to a wonderful natural lightshow each and every paddling session. Canberra should be known as the ‘Sunrise Capital of Australia’. The four seasons have been superb. One minute you are paddling through pea soup fog, the next you’re being wowed by amazing pastels tones, or being dazzled by brilliant golden hues, the variety is extensive. I found it extremely hard to select the final 100 as I have snapped over 30,000 photos this year. That would have to be a life time of sunrises in one year- how lucky I am!

20 Dec 2013: Super Dooper Mega Wow! What a fantastic farewell to the week and for many, the working year as Mother Nature turned on a stunning display again this morning. I’m heading off today for a few weeks in search of rivers, estuaries, point breaks and the golden sands of the mid north coast. Keep an eye out as I’ll be loading a tribute to 2013 next week.
All the signs were there that it was going to be another stunner.
19 Dec 2013: Mother Nature unleashed an absolute stunner this morning! It was truly gorgeous: the conditions were super smooth with superb tones to the east. Then the sunrise went into overdrive. I didn’t expect it to be that good to be honest. I watched the pink glow forming on the horizon thinking that it will be a nice sunrise and then…. KAPOW. That sunrise will be etched in my mind for some time. I hope that you enjoy the shots as much as I enjoy taking them.
It’s 5.04am and I’m slicing through pastel waters.
17 Dec 2013: The full moon was high in the dawn sky as I cast off for 4.45am, the winds were light, the tones were excellent and yet again the ‘Red Chilli’ was slicing its way through glassy waters. Terrific Tuesday is here and what a beautiful morning it was out there on LGB.The warmer weather has arrived and this was evident as there were plenty people out and about making the most of these gorgeous conditions. It’s shaping up to be an absolute cracker of a day here in CBR, I hope you get the chance to get outside today and enjoy it.
4.53am: Swans and a full moon are a great stating combination.
12 Dec 2013: I was in total cruise mode on LBG this morning as I paddled my way through the main basin enjoying the great reflections and the beginning of a new day. Initially I had the entire lake to myself but it wasn’t too long before I was saying hello to the ever happy dragonboaters or dodging the flying sculls and to top it all off I finished the morning chasing the Questacon balloon. Now that’s a very cool way to start the day!
In total cruise mode once again
7 Dec 2013: I felt like I was paddling on pink clouds this morning. I didn’t have a great amount of time available this morning, so I could only managed to experience the sunrise, drift around and then quickly fly home. I hope you have a great weekend….ENJOY.
4 Dec 2013: Today’s sunrise was gob smacking beautiful! I could tell that it was going to be a stunner from the moment I cast off at 4.50am. The morning tones were sublime with the eastern skyline evolving from soft purple pastels to a burst of gorgeous gold. Chances are that if you are out and about in the early hours of the morning you will experience something special.

30 Nov 2013: Green was the scene and it set the tone for this morning’s theme, get up early if you are keen. Is it obvious that I have been reading to many Dr Seuss books to my five years old? I had a pleasurable paddle into the wetlands this morning and immersed myself in a world of green and returned back happy as a bean.
I think that I discovered the wetland portal into a world of green.
