Steely Saturday Start

6 Dec 2014: At 5.30am the sky looked threatening with low steel coloured clouds lingering overhead. I paddled down into the Molonglo from the East Basin to watch the Burley Griffin Canoe Club prepare for their 24 hour challenge and was welcomed by Charlie Honker and his family of gaggling geese. The conditions were ideal in the morning with calm water and no wind but the weather soon moved in and Canberra was dealt a drenching. IMG_4162 LR

Tantalising and Turbulent

Sunday 30 November 2014: Words cannot express the sunrise this morning. There was so much variety with the scenery transitioning from what looked like a pot of molten gold  to a perfect rainbow arcing over the city scape. The clouds formations were amazing, often turbulent and forever changing.

Day of Discovery

29 Nov 2014: Today’s paddle started with an electric sunrise and sent me on a day of discovery. The colour of spring was reflected in the underwater world with fuchsia tangled tree roots glowing below the water’s surface.
