I first met Eileen very briefly at a #CBRTweetUp event a couple of months ago at a café on Canberra’s southside and have been following her blog and tweets with interest ever since. I think her unique international experience, networks and love for good food and everything enjoyable in Canberra make her someone to watch as she evolves her blogging and confidence with social media. She also mentioned that she is sharing her experiences with food and growing cooking skills with some workmates so I’m hoping I will be able to take a class with her in the near future.
Who are you Eileen? I’ve been trained as an apprentice hairdresser, a journalist, a lawyer, and a public servant. In essence though, I’m a foodie that loves to take photos of her food and sharing it with people. I also love fashion and beauty. I started the blog because friends…

30 March 2014: Skyhooks was playing ‘I’m Living in the Seventies’ on my iPod while mother nature provided the visuals completing the perfect Sunday afternoon package.
29 March 2014: There’s something special about slicing through glassy waters in the dark while being surrounded in fog. Autumn is here and I’m loving it, I was so excited the moment I open the door at 5.30am to discover that it was a foggy morning here in Canberra. The winds were no existent and I just couldn’t get myself down to the lake quick enough. It’s something that is hard to describe, but it’s an experience that is totally unique and something quite a surreal.
22 March 2014: I’m loving the autumn sunrises and how the mist is just starting to be a part of my daily routine. The morning started out with soft pre-dawn tones that lasted for ages and then it all quickly changed as the sun finally decided to pop up from the clouds to burn through the mist to liven up everything up. I can’t wait to see what the next few weeks will bring as this is such a beautiful time of year.
9 March 2014: WOW WOW WOW…words can’t begin to describe how good it was this morning. Initially the balloons were silhouetted in the Canberra skies, but it quickly transformed into a truly wonderful spectacle as a HUGE rainbow formed perfectly on cue as the balloons were hovering all around the National Museum. There were balloons sailing across the lake dancing amongst the rainbow and at one point I was playing a game of chicken with a hot air balloon as it drifted directly towards me. I was having conversations and saying hello to everyone in the baskets. I could’ve just reached out and high fived a few of them as they cruised by me while I were sitting in my kayak. The scene was sheer perfection as the sun illuminated the vibrant colours of the balloons and the Canberra landscape provided a fantastic backdrop and then to top it all off, it was perfectly framed by a glorious rainbow. How good is this, I have been waiting all year for this festival and I’m loving it!
6 March 2014: Delightful tones and mirrored waters were tonight’s theme. The sunsets have been spectacular in Canberra the past few days and tonight’s was no exception. That was such peaceful way to end the day. I hope that you enjoy the shots from this evening.
2 March 2014: Mother Nature has done its best to imitate ‘Enlighten’ which has been lighting up Canberra landmarks in the evening this weekend. The early autumn tones of aubergine and pinks were projected onto the mirrored waters of LBG creating a perfect picture. Enlighten runs until March 8 so there is still plenty of time for you to be able to experience it.

23 Feb 2014: Backlit clouds beamed golden rays of light into the morning skies over Canberra creating a wonderful atmosphere. The crazy cloud formations and the beautiful light combined perfectly to produce some wild reflections on a very calm morning.
