20 March 2013: This morning’s serene start to the day is a strong indication that wonderful Wednesday is about to unfold. It was a cool start but it wasn’t long before I was being warmed up by the morning rays. Serene, peaceful and calm are only a few words to describe what it was like on the water this morning.
6.25am: Pre dawn cruise
11 March 2013. Wow wow and wow…did I say wow enough. Lake Burley Griffin has started its 100th birthday celebrations with a mind blowing perfomance. Copper sunrises, balloon silhouettes were dotting the skies, then there was the show stopping showman in the Capital Chemist balloon. He even had time to chat as he changed over of his LPG gas cyclinder as the other ran out of juice while he was basket dragging across the basin towards Black Mountain Tower. He was that calm it felt like we were sitting on his back deck, kicking back and cruising for the afternoon. Unreal, fantastic, brilliant and as many other wow words you can use may come close to the experience I had this morning.
Mind Blowing Sunrise
10 March 2013: There wasn’t any need for speed at all again this morning, the most important thing you have to make sure of is that you sponge in as much as you can; especially when there’s a light show like this. I had the best Sunday morning cruise on LBG this morning with Matt and Tim. What more can you ask for, great conditions, brilliant colours and excellent company……thanks guy’s had a great morning.

9 March 2013: LBG does it again! Back to back mornings and Lake Burley Griffin has treated us to a spectacular display with another jaw dropping sunrise followed by a balloon spectacular which filled the skies and had everyone going Ooooo…. Ahhhh and Oh YEAH! Well that’s what I was saying anyway. I hope that you scroll down and enjoy a few selected pics from this morning’s float.
8 March 2013: Just another standard morning on LBG again…..Mirror reflections, mist on the water, stunning sunrise, brilliant backdrops, angelic swans…and GIANT HOT AIR BALLOONS BASKET DRAGGING ON THE WATER!

7 March 2013: Crystal clear skies and light winds made for a very relaxing paddle on LBG this morning. I was out there for an early start so I had plenty of time to take in the pre-dawn glow from the East Basin, cruise past the Carillon into the Main Basin to see the soft tones and then I sat back and took in another stunning light show.
Another beautiful start to the day.
6 March 2013: What a WOW of a morning!
What an unbelievable morning on LBG. It had it all, predawn mist floating on the surface, lights reflecting from our landmarks, silhouettes, golden tones, pastels to the west and then to finish off I was treated to a balloon bonanza.The odd thing is that this happens more often than not…..The judges have given ten out of ten this morning for LBG!

4 March 2013: I had pastel pinks to the west and golden rays to the east this morning.I just didn’t know which way to look; what a great dilemma to have.
25 Feb 2013:LBG took on a different persona this morning. It was shroud in fog with the morning sun trying its best to burn through. It’s a beautiful reminder that summer is nearing its end.
9 Feb 2013: Here we go again, another optical explosion on Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra. It amazes how there is such a huge colour change over such a small amount of time. The best part is that this is not a one off sunrise; I am treated to this experience more often than not. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
