Marble sunset tonight

7 March 2013: I’ve have been watching the sunset build all afternoon and when the time arrived for it to turn on the afternoon light show, it didn’t disappoint. I wasn’t able to get out on the lake this afternoon, so the shots will be ‘Red Chilli’ nose free. Needless to say, dinner was delayed again!

Thursday Morning Cruise

7 March 2013: Crystal clear skies and light winds made for a very relaxing paddle on LBG this morning. I was out there for an early start so I had plenty of time to take in the pre-dawn glow from the East Basin, cruise past the Carillon into the Main Basin to see the soft tones and then I sat back and took in another stunning light show.

Another beautiful start to the day.

Mixed bag of WOW!

6 March 2013: What a WOW of a morning!

What an unbelievable morning on LBG. It had it all, predawn mist floating on  the surface, lights reflecting from our landmarks, silhouettes, golden tones,  pastels to the west and then to finish off I was treated to a balloon bonanza. The odd thing is that this happens more often than not…..The judges have  given ten out of ten this morning for LBG!

Wetlands Zen

24 Feb 2013: There was a brief break from the wind and the rain this morning so I decided to venture up in the Jerrabomberra Wetlands for a bit of Zen. It hard to believe that the wetlands are only five kilometres from the CBD of Canebrra. You would swear that you are miles away from anything!

It’s a Hat-trick for LBG

10 Feb 2013

Lake Burley Griffin (LBG) has successfully achieved a hat-trick this morning by producing another stunning display of colour. As I was paddling back in ‘ZEN’ Mode, I thought to myself;  just when you thought it couldn’t get any better,  you witness something like this. I don’t want to rant and rave too much, so scroll down and I hope you enjoy my snap shots.

Optical explosion

9 Feb 2013: Here we go again, another optical explosion on Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra. It amazes how there is such a huge colour change over such a small amount of time. The best part is that this is not a one off sunrise; I am treated to this experience more often than not. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
