Sunrise No. 365 – Fantastic Finale

31 Dec 2013: Serenity and simplicity would describe Mother Natures final day to 2013. The golden tones and the crashing tunes of the ocean were a brilliant combo to farewell the year. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey so far. I look forward to sharing more photos with you in 2014 and wish you all a safe and happy new year.

Perfect Accompaniment

30 Dec 2013: Soft pastel tones preceded the light of day with the sound of waves crashing onto the shore line. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on Shelley Beach, Crescent Head this morning watching yet another day unfold.

Fantastic Farewell

5 OCT 2013:  We leave Coffs Harbour not crying because its over, but smiling because it happened. This place is pure magic! It was only fitting that I experienced another stunning sunrise to farewell our fantastic week at Coffs Harbour. This week has been a sunrise bonanza, each morning has treated me to something totally different yet mind blowing beautiful. Today we pack up camp and slowly migrate our home over the next few days. Farewell Coffs Harbour, thanks for the great time…see you again for sure!

Subtle Beauty

3 OCT 2013: Sheer beauty and elegance would be the best way to describe this morning’s sunrise. It was such a subtle transformation with the predawn orange tones changing to pastel pinks, then finishing off with a striking sun burning in the horizons haze. I hope you enjoy the shots from Bonville creek, Sawtell.

4.48am and I'm greeted with orange tones to the east as I round the corner.

Sublime Sunrise

1 Oct 2013: Unbelievably beautiful, stunning, magical, brilliant, perfect, magnificent and as many other describing words that I could use to caption this mornings sunrise here at Coffs Harbour. We are up here for the week to watch my middle boy Finn play in the National soccer tournament (he is a goal keeper) and thanks to him I have been able to witness this a truly spectacular sunrise. I was absolutely gob smacked; I hope you like the shots as much as I enjoyed capturing / experiencing them.

I was on the water for 4.45am and I was being treated to a magnificent sunrise already.

Best of July

What a wonderful winter it’s been. The thing I love the most about winter is that it produces the most amazing conditions with each morning having its own unique signature. One morning its crystal clear and the Red Chilli is slicing its way through glassy waters. The next morning it’s thick as pea soup and you can’t see five metres in front of you. I hope that you enjoy the variety of shots that comprise my ‘Best of July’ photo journal.

A brilliant transformation, the pastel pinks quickly turned into glossy gold’s.

Molten Sunrise

19 July 2013: WOW. It looked as though molten lava was spilling from the sky and floating on the waters surface this morning. That sunrise is etched well and truly into my retinas for life. Its been a while since I have taken in a sunrise that was so vivid; it was mind blowing. Newcastle has certainly farewelled me in true style. I hope you enjoy the shots.

Sunrise + Sand + Newcastle = Fantastic trip down memory lane

18 July 2013: This morning I decided to go for a walk and take in the sunrise from my old stomping grounds rather than go for a paddle and what a fantastic decision that was. It was so nice to just sit back and enjoy a glorious sunrise from my old surfing spots from Newcastle to Nobbys beach. The pre-dawn tones were sublime and the morning transformation was brilliant. My walk this morning brought back so many memories and reminded how important it is to get out there and enjoy the simple things. I hope that you enjoy this mornings shots as much as I enjoyed photographing them, I had such a beautiful trip down memory lane.

Cruising in Newcastle

17 July 2013: It was so nice to be home and have another beautiful cruise on Newcastle Harbour. Yet again I had 6am start and I‘m so happy that I did as the early morning light refraction was brilliant. It’s so nice to be out on the water and watch the sun pop each day, I’m so lucky to be able to experience it.

6.18am: The Shimmy Sunrise - Newcastle. The light refraction was amazing. This is 40 minutes before the scheduled sunrise.... Unreal!
